		<description>The reason why the big 5 bank stocks are getting a lukewarm reception is because they are likely to get hit with the commercial paper credit crunch problem.  To buy the bank stocks before all of the news comes out would be more like gambling than investing.  You might win out, or you might get creamed.</description>

Actually, the history of the CMHC is one of progressivelt easing the conditions for buying real estate. At one time (back in the 1930s), as I understand, one needed a down payment near 50% to buy a house.
