  2. A researcher at Ohio State University reveals that married individuals are likely to be twice as wealthy as their single or divorced counterparts. Really? Did they need a study to figure that out? Two can live cheaper than one is just common sense.
  3. A recent Ipsos Reid/RBC poll revealed that saving for retirement is the biggest financial concern for Canadians. I found it very interesting that a significant percentage of Canadians are financially responsible: 66% have a RRSP and fully 32% plan to contribute their maximum available.
  4. Another recent survey sponsored by Mackenzie Investments revealed that Canadians are a spendthrift lot. A significant percentage of Canadians are financially irresponsible: 34% carry a credit card balance, the average credit card balance is $1,710 and only 50% are aware of their spending habits.
  5. Irwin Michael, deep-value investor and portfolio manager of ABC Funds, has added scandal-plagued Atlas Cold Storage Income Trust (TSX: FZR.UN) to his list of favourite value stocks.
