While I am a big fan of indexing and asset allocation, I do invest in stocks. I consider myself a long-term investor and I am mostly invested in large-cap, slow-growth, value-oriented stocks. I conduct most of my research through ValueLine, S&P reports provided by Ameritrade Canada and the web sites of the companies themselves.
The ValueLine Investment Survey is a great resource, with a one-page summary of past performance and future earnings estimates. Our local library has a subscription to ValueLine and also online access to ValueLine screens. ValueLine provides free access to reports about the 30 stocks that make up the Dow Jones Index.
