Used Taxfreeway last year and loved it. It is as good as many other software. I would encourage others to use it. I completed 8 returns last year with no errors.

Beware: Taxfreeway 2005 has some errors in it. For some reason, it has populated a field for RRSP contributions that I didn't make. Obviously, now I have to repay the tax credit I spent from last year, with interest.

I'll stay away from Taxfreeway this year.

I reviewed Taxfreeway last year. Overall, I liked it. It is free to try, so you can't go wrong giving it a whirl.

Here's my review: <a href="http://www.canadiancapitalist.com/2006/02/25/test-driving-taxfreeway" rel="nofollow">Link</a>

I'm thinking of trying out Taxfreeway. I have about 40 returns to do and this product is $9.95 for unlimited returns! Does anyone who has used it before have any comment about it, warnings or praise?

I agree that once you pick one product, you are likely to stick with it for the long run because it's a pain to re-input tombstone data and carryforward amounts.

I myself have used CoolTax, Taxwiz, Quicktax, Ufile, Cutetax, Taxfreeway, and Studiotax and find they provide the same results using the same tools.

My personal preference is http://www.studiotax.com/

I like this product not because I think it is better (or worse for that matter) but because it is CAREWARE.

For those who interested in knowing your options for netfile, you can find them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NETFILE

So far only CuteTax is certified for 2006 so the comment above about Quicktax is not totally accurate (you must be using a pre-certified version of Quicktax) whereas the fully certified version of Cutetax is already available.

I like how QuickTax integrates with epost.ca such that it automatically enters in the relevant numbers from my T4. I have never tried other software, so it's likely they can do this too. A cool feature that prevents transcription errors.

I've noticed before and your comments confirm that tax software is a sticky application. Once you get used to a product you don't want to switch and learn another product all over again. I am using QuickTax this year because I used it last year and will probably again use it next year.

I have used quicktax and Ufile. After my computer crashed in 2002 I and I lost my QuickTax files I decided to try Ufile. I prefer Ufile for many reasons:

1. Its cheaper.
2. It remembers you every year.
3. Each previous years tax info is available
for me whenever I need it.
4. I do not have to worry about losing any
 information.
5. I do not have to pay until I have completed
 my return.
6. I can look at it on any computer.

I am sure that QuickTax Web does just as good a job, however now that I have all my info in Ufile it would not make sense for me to change as long as I am happy.

For the past few years I've been using cutetax.ca to do my taxes. Their prices are very nice and can be found http://www.cutetax.ca/price.jsp . . .

QuickTaxWeb was faster to have the 2006 year available so I've already been playing around on their site and have my information in there, so they might win me over this year, but I'll probably stick with cute tax, I've had some good success with it in the past.

I use QuicktTax web, it does everything I need and allows me download my tax information in a QuickTax file. It also remembers you year to year, so it has al my information ready to go.

Best of all you can setup your entire return and don't have to pay for t until you are ready to file. Cost $19.99
