someone said inorder for me to buy FTS and contribute it to the RRSP in the same tax year; I have to use a company to buy the FTS and contribute the shares of the company to my RRSP. Is there any other way? or Is any product out there that will do it without me setting a company up.

CC

I have had positive experiences with both the flow through shares and LSIFs.

The key has been my expectations have been low, but I also looked at the fundamentals.

I was already investing in Mavrix Explorer Mutual funds when I decided to make the plunge into flow through shares. I invested $25K just to get the tax credit I needed for 2005. After 18 months, my return was $35K and the way that Mavrix structured the deal, I am now liquid.

As for the LSIFs, I too was skeptical and being a conservative don't like too much to do with Labour ;-) however I like ROI Funds approach. They provided loans and limited equity investment so that they remain cash flow positive. These funds have managed to remain consistent and although I only have a few years experience with them, I am happy with both the credits and the returns.

Just my $Q.02 worth

After my experience with LSIFs it will be a long time before I make investment decisions based primarily on tax considerations.
