I live in Ottawa, our nation’s capital. I am in my mid thirties, happily married and father of twin two-year old boys. I have a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering and work as a software developer. My spouse works as an IT consultant for the Federal Government.
Financially, we both earn a good salary, but I am very conscious of the fact that we work in a very cyclical industry. We save a significant portion of our incomes, we contribute religiously to our retirement accounts and with any cash left over, we pre-pay our mortgages. Apart from a small mortgage, we are largely debt-free.
