Active Value Investing Book Giveaway

October 4th, 2007 · 175 Comments

I requested author Vitaliy Katsenelson for a copy of his book Active Value Investing (affiliate link) for review and I just finished reading the first chapter yesterday. So far, the book (website) is living up to my expectations (based on Vitaliy’s columns in The Financial Times) of a scholarly and insightful work.

Somehow, the publisher sent me two copies of the book, so I am giving away a pristine copy of the extra book (listed for $37.79 on Amazon) to one lucky reader. Entering your name in the contest is very simple - no hoops to jump through and no fine print to give you a headache. Just leave a comment with your email address (I have a strict Privacy Policy) before 8 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 and I will pick one entry at random. Open to Canadian residents only and only one entry per person.

Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Was at a bookstore and was just checking this book out the other day. I read a bit of it in the store but held off for pay day. It seems to question or examine the idea of buying stocks for the long run and questions this strategy. The author tries to argue that buying and holding isn’t for all markets.

    Hope I win this :)

Just wanted to voice my support for Canadian Capitalist.
I just came back from Calgary. There are more cranes in downtown Calgary than probably in NYC. And now rich Canadians (real estate prices are up 50% in Calgary and Canadian dollar is in par with the US dollar) want to buy anything they can put their hands on in the US. Way to go Canada!

No book required for me :)
