Weekend Reading

April 3rd, 2005 · No Comments

The weekend edition of The Wall Street Journal has interesting articles on personal finance topics. Columnist Jonathan Clements outlines the steps to build a better portfolio, Paul B. Farrell praises the virtues of lazy portfolios like the sleepy portfolio and another article warns against keeping too much money in employer stock. It is all excellent advice.

Arriving at a suitable asset allocation and sticking to it is the easiest route to success for most investors. The Sleepy Portfolio, which I track in this blog, has just 10 ETFs spread across different asset classes. While it is a dull portfolio, its hands-off approach is suitable for people who don’t have the time or inclination to follow the markets.
