Doesn’t hurt to check…

February 1st, 2005 · No Comments

A couple of weeks ago, our bulky computer monitor died after being sick for about a year (occasionally it would fade to black and I would revive it by whacking it on the side. Only this time no amount of whacking would bring it back). Sleek and thin LCD monitors are relatively cheap these days and occupy less desk space, so I went shopping.
I checked out the aisles of the big-box retailers before finding one that I really liked (adjustable height, ability to pivot to portrait-mode etc.) at Costco. While shopping at Costco yesterday, I happened to walk by the monitor aisle and the same monitor was selling for $50 less. This morning, I dropped into Costco with the receipt and happily pocketed the $50 + tax refund.
I think it pays to check the prices of recently purchased electronics stuff. Once in a while, we might get some money back!
